Guidelines editorials

We invite you to write an editorial for this magazine.
You can make a specific contribution towards the knowledge conveyed in this magazine while
presenting a profile of yourself both inside and outside the pages of this magazine.

TVU Vakbladen b.v., also referred to below as “the publisher”, will evaluate the editorials and,
if approved, they can be published in the magazine. The decision regarding publishing and
the manner of publishing is made by the publisher. You cannot derive any rights
from a message you submit.

AUTHOR INSTRUCTIONS

Anyone can submit an editorial to this magazine for publication.
However, the publisher reserves the right to approve or deny publication.

Key criteria:

  • Quality 
  • Focus on target audience (readers include installation advisor, installers, wholesalers and users) 

If necessary, the publisher will make suggestions to the author
to prepare the content of the editorial publication.

In order to enable the fastest-possible and most precise possible publication,
submission of the editorial is subject to the following conditions.

EDITORIAL TOPICS:

PROJECT REVIEWS
Description of a project your organisation completed or was involved in.
Description of a completed project,
that incorporates a number of products you have delivered.

PRODUCT INNOVATIONS
Development, adaptation, description and application of a new product.

MAXIMUM TEXT SIZE PER EDITORIAL:
For a printed size of approximately 4 pages : 1.500 words + max. 8 photos
For a printed size of approximately 2 pages :    750 words + max. 4 photos


TEXT/COPY:

  • submit text/copy only as a WORD document on a CD/DVD accompanied by a print-out,
    which you must also e-mail to:
  • Company name / product name / etc. can be mentioned a maximum of once!
  • No advertising text/copy, rather a factual presentation of projects and products, etc. mentions and/or
    absolute statements like “the best”, “the worst”, “the biggest”, “the smallest”, “the first”, “the last”, “the
    quickest”, “the most important”, as well as the word “market leader” etc. are not allowed, are not
    accepted by us and you are expressly advised to refrain from using them!
  • Comparisons of products, working methods, completions, etc. between different companies
    are not permitted and you cannot submit them!
  • We do not work on the basis of exclusivity, i.e. multiple companies/businesses with similar products
    can appear in the same edition/publication!
  • There is a maximum of 1 editorial article per company per issue and each editorial must describe
    something different each time and thus be published no more than once!
     

In general: the editorial article must be submitted without formatting (i.e. no columns, etc)


ILLUSTRATIONS:

  • Images must be submitted separately, in other words do not import them into the WORD document!
  • Digital photos/images must be saved as EPS, BMP, JPEG, or TIFF files !
    (120 lines per cm (lpc) / resolution 300 dots per inch (dpi) with a DIN A-4 format)
  • Minimum size of photo/image: 80 x 60 mm (width x height)
  • Submit a maximum of 10 illustrations/images per editorial for a broad choice for publishing
  • Please state your order of preference of photos to be positioned by the publisher
  • We also would like to receive from you two digital photos of the interviewee(s)
    (both a “portrait photo” and a “landscape photo”)
     

The editorial must be structured as follows:

  • Title (maximum of 10 words)
  • Intro (maximum of 50 words)
  • Sidebar copy (maximum of 80 words)
  • Name of author(s) (including title if applicable)
  • Job title of author(s)
  • Copy of editorial, including subheadings and any sub-subheadings
  • Literature cited:
    Indicate references to bibliography with sequential note numbers
    placed in the text inside square brackets […]
  • List the references in the following sequence:
    Surname, initials, name of publication, volume, no., publisher, year published
     

Preceding publication, you will receive a galley proof by e-mail for a last check of typesetting errors.
Please state your e-mail address with the submission of your editorial.
 

Additional conditions for possible publication are:

  • We reserve the right to edit and/or shorten the editorial you have submitted as a supplier, without
    consulting with you or receiving your approval. This applies in particular, but not exclusively, if we
    deem there to be phrases that are unfair to the competition, statements, claims, etc. made and/or that
    the rights of third parties might be infringed upon.
  • By submitting an editorial, you as the submitter/supplier and your employer indemnify the publisher/
    publishing company against all possible and even future claims by you and/or third parties arising
    from the publication(s) in our journals, on our websites and other publications, from which you and/or
    third parties could suffer any detriment by the publication of this information, copy, photos (digital or
    otherwise) and/or drawings, so that claims for any damages by you and/or third parties, for any
    reason whatsoever, shall not apply. You, as a supplier/submitter, as well as your employer, guarantee
    the above in respect of the publisher. The publisher does not have any obligation to publish any
    editorial. You also bear all author’s rights, copyrights, user rights, license rights, translation rights,
    property rights, disclosure rights via print or web both in the broadcast sense, simplification rights and
    all property rights to the text, images, drawings, etc. to TVU Vakbladen b.v. at no costs, substantively
    and subject to no time restriction and thus all rights belong fully to TVU Vakbladen b.v.. Author fees
    are not paid and thus are expressly excluded. Every author shall receive a copy of the magazine with
    the applicable publication. Material you submit will not be returned to you.
  • You should be aware that we, as the publisher/publishing company, cannot and do not wish to take
    on and accept any responsibility and liability for any claims, pronouncements, etc. made by you that
    could cause any damage to one or more companies. This responsibility and the liability as well as any
    detrimental effects from this that can ensure for you as well as the publisher/publishing company (also
    including financial detriment) shall be fully for your own account and risk. You as the
    supplier/submitter as well as your employer guarantee the above in respect of the
    publisher/publishing company.
  • You should be aware that the publisher/publishing company itself is not obligated to check and/or
    improve editorials you submit for legal gaps, phrases that are unfair to the competition or other errors,
    claims, etc.. This responsibility lies solely and completely with you, as a supplier/submitter.
  • An additional condition that applies is that we must have received a completed form stating
    acceptance from TVU Vakbladen b.v. before the publication of each editorial. This acceptance form
    must be completed in full, signed by a person from your organisation with authority to do so, and
    include the company stamp. If one of these conditions is not met, we will not publish the editorial you
    submitted.

BECAUSE OF THE FACT, THAT WE ONLY PUBLISH MAGAZINES IN BOTH GERMANY AND IN
THE NETHERLANDS, PLEASE NOTE THAT THEREFORE ALL YOUR EDITORIALS HAS TO BE
SEND TO US IN EITHER THE GERMAN OR THE DUTCH LANGUAGE !!
